Jami had the babies on Saturday morning 7/14/2007:
Jami gave birth early this morning on 7/14/2007...Saturday. We went in for a clinical exam and ultrasound on Friday as scheduled, and the docs determined that baby B (the one in Jami's ribs) did not grow as much as baby A. In fact she was almost a pound smaller. They did a bio physical to check for signs of developmental progress, but baby B didn't pass the test. So they admitted us to the hospital for fetal monitoring. After about 10 hours of this, they decided to go into surgery and do a c-section. Jami gave birth to Addison (baby A) at 6:09 AM and Sidney (baby B) at 6:11 AM. Addison was 3 lbs 6 oz and Sidney was 2 lbs 8 oz.
Jami is doing fine and is just really tired from all the monitoring last night. She's trying to nap right now. Sidney the little runt is actually doing better than Addison. Sidney needs no help with breathing and shows really positive signs. Addison isn't in bad shape either, but is getting help with breathing through a tube in her nose. Neither are on ventilation, and cross your fingers, both should be fine. Jami is in the hospital until Wednesday and the babies will stay at the hospital until mid to late August!
