The girls sharing some screaming time!
So there are a couple of things that came on like a dang light bulb. Jami and I were both stressing pretty bad about all the throwing up. It isn't that we mind barf on our clothes, floor, and couch...but there just didn't seem to be a logical explanation. So one of the things we tried...which they always did in the NICU was raise the crib so the girls heads are elevated. This was not an easy task, but what better thing to use than the bumper pads that came with the crib sheets. So we propped the dang crib up, but the girls would roll and slide down to the bottom! Talk about stupid parents. So we used the Boppy (even though it says that it should not be used for sleeping) to keep them in a "nest". Check it out:
Holy friggin' light bulb Batman! This helped some, but the thing that helped even more was that Jami ran out of her pre-natal multi-vitamin. So while we were waiting for it to be refilled, we noticed that the girls spit up and vomited SIGNIFICANTLY less. So another day passed with out the vitamin and BINGO...no barfing/puking. So I've asked Jami to stop taking it. I can't believe that whatever is in this thing causes them to barf so much. Anyway, another friggin' light bulb! So the girls are puking, spitting up, SO MUCH less. It is such a burden off of us to at least isolate the problem. At some point, we were going to either go to formula or Jami was going to stop eating dairy products and spicy food.
The good news is that the girls are sleeping much better, they are keeping their food down, they are spitting up less, and we are happier.
Yollie our nanny started today. She's great with the girls and is already helping out around the house and making our lives easier.
What else? Jami is on her second week of work, and I'm officially back at work. So, on to finding out what my career has in store. I have a few options, but I'm waiting to see what my company is going to say with the merger and all. Sorry if we've been out of communications. Sometimes it is easier for us to just hole up and be home bodies and rest.

iron in pre-natal vitamins can cause spit up/gassiness. at least, that's what my pede told me when i had asked about jeremy's spit up. so, i stopped taking the vitamin, but jeremy still had a lot of gas. not sure if you guys have thought of trying Mylicon? I never tried it w/Jeremy but know of other parents who had pretty good success. my pede had also talked about giving jermey Mylanta. maybe something you can ask your pede?
