I'm All Barfed Out

Girls Sleeping!

Let me get some updates out of the way before I start whining and complaining about the girls. First, there is nothing really wrong with Addy's hip. When whoever measured the angles on the ultrasound, the normal limit was 60 and higher for some angle in the hip socket. Addy's was in the high 50s. So I waited for two and a half hours for a doctor to tell me that there was nothing wrong, and that we probably should just have an x-ray in about 8 months. It was crazy! That was the second time I waited for like 2 hours for an appointment. One of these days I'm going to lose it. Second...the girls eyes are both developing well. They had their THIRD eye appointment to check their development...and the retinas are looking normal. We have to check their eyes in a year to make sure they aren't cross-eyed or have bad vision.

So...the spit-up, barfing, puking. Jami and I decided that a little spit up was just that. Barfing is vomiting ONCE. Puking is having a vomiting episode where waterfalls of vomit come flying out of the girls, this usually ends in a bout of hiccuping. We can't figure out what is causing it other than it is reflux (GERD). We don't know if it is something Jami eats, or if it is just immature development in their stomach/esophagus valve, or if they are just trying to piss me off. Whatever it is, it is very tiresome. There is some good info online at: http://infantrefluxdisease.com/infant-reflux-main.php and we've also thought about buying special pillows to keep the girls elevated when they sleep. These stupid pillows cost $90 each...(http://www.arpillow.com/)

So now what do we do? I just hope they out grow this phase. They don't always have puking episodes. Sometimes they just spit up or have one barf...but it is all getting very very old.

Sorry for not posting more. There really isn't much going on other than cleaning up vomit...

Keep up the good work, one day they won't barf (as much). You guys are doing great, I am so glad to hear that eyes and hips are all normal. Let me know about the renal stuff. Have a good weekend. Love, Amber
