Big Head Big Head...Our Little Giada De Laurentiis's

Let's get some quick updates out of the way...I'm on the bench right now or on the beach...whatever you call it. It basically means I'm not on a project, but I'm still collecting a paycheck. The good news is that I get to stay at home, the bad news is that it can't last forever and if it goes on too long I could lose my job. So, I'm back on the job search. I have an interview to transfer to an internal group with my company, so that is a good start. I'm going to see what else is out there.

We took the girls to their physical therapy appointment. They were weighed and went through a PT exam to see if they were developing appropriately. The good news is that they are doing great. They are strong and as the PT said...very sturdy and solid! Although the girls are almost 4 months old, they are more like 2 month old babies due to the early birth. So they are 50th percentile in weight, 25th percentile in height, and 75th percentile in head circumference! Our girls have huge noggins! The PT asked which side of the family it came from. If they have big brains they come from the Chung side. If they just have huge heads...well they must be Wendlings! Hahahaha...sorry...J/K. We joke that they are like Giada De Laurentiis...the chef...hostess of the Today Show...she's got a huge head. Anyway, we are so happy that they are developing. The girls are smiling more, lifting their heads, blah blah blah...they are also still puking!

Addy is 10 lbs 10 ounces and Sid is just 5 ounces behind her sister.

We got some bad news today. Our nanny is having surgery the last week of November, and can't work for at least 6 weeks. That means we have to find a new nanny. Our agency will be working with us, but we are sad to lose Yolly. Hopefully she can come back to us after her recovery, but it'll be tough to find a replacement just for the six weeks. What a pain! We really like her and she really likes the girls.

What else? Hmmm...not much other than that Jami and I are really getting worn out. It isn't really a lack of sleep, but two constantly screaming, puking, angry, evil little girls that are our daughters. People say they are so cute...well spend one day at the Chung house and you'll think otherwise. We are sleeping pretty well, but we just don't have time to re-energize. We did get to go eat for our anniversary, which was nice. But the girls are at the point where they are very vocal and need constant attention. I mean I wish I could just pull a Britney Spears and neglect my children...ahhh the life of a celeb! J/K.

So, everyone that meets the girls or us, asks how we do it. People who have twins stop us and talk to us. People who are just curious about the girls stop and talk to us. Almost everyone asks how we do it, if we have help, etc. I mean we both work and we have Yolly from 8 to 5, but EVERY other family with twins has help 24 hours a day. A live in nanny, or family super close by, or parents that move in for awhile. A lady on the El chatted with us for about 10 minutes and talked about how her daughter has twins and the help she gets. Our friend Neha's sister is living with their parents for a short time to get help. Everyone has some close knit set of people that they can rely on. Unfortunately it is basically Jami and I and Yolly. We really appreciate the friends that stop by and help for a few hours. We hope things get better and we don't give our kids away. Some lady on Michigan Ave stopped her car and said she would take one...I almost gave her Addy on the spot. Almost everyone that comments says..."Good Luck!" or "God Bless You" or something to the effect that our lives must suck and we need all the help we can get. The funniest thing was that I was getting bagels with the girls one morning and a homeless guy stopped me and asked if the girls were twins. I chatted with him, and before we parted...he patted me on the back, wished me luck, and said..."God help you!". This homeless man had pity on me!!!
