Nanny Situation

Here is Yolly our first nanny

So as some of you may know, we had to start looking for a new nanny in November because Yolly had to have surgery. We LOVE Yolly, and she is so good with the girls. She does so much...but we had to find someone else. So we started interviewing, and after talking to five other nannies, we settled on someone. Unfortunately, we settled on the wrong person. Talk about a difference in productivity. Yolly walks in the door washes her hands, starts filling the sink with water to clean the bottles, starts warming up the bottles, and changes/diapers the girls. Our other nanny, we'll call her Gee didn't do that much work in an hour. From the moment she walked through the door until she had both girls changed and diapered...it was a good 30 minutes. No joke...and that is it. She didn't think to start warming the milk or start the laundry or anything else. Plus she didn't take the girls on a walk once in two weeks! The girls LOVE their walks and sleep soundly, even when it is cold out.

We had Yolly come in on a weekend to babysit for three hours. She fed the girls, changed them, did their laundry, ran our dishwasher, put away the dishes, cleaned the floor, folded and cleaned up the blankets on our couch, did the girls dishes, and basically tidied up everywhere. All in three hours!

A Quick Comparison:

Yolly - Walks the girls daily
Gee - Never walked them

Yolly - Laughs
Gee - No laughs

Yolly - Happy
Gee - Not happy

Yolly - Gets the girls to sleep so they aren't crabby in the evening
Gee - Tried to do this, but the girls got so used to her holding them they won't sleep in their crib during the day anymore.

Yolly - Plays with the girls, talks to them
Gee - A dang mute!

Yolly - Thinks nurturing and caring is the most important thing
Gee - Thinks keeping them quiet and sleeping is the most important thing

Yolly - We trust her
Gee - Not so much

Anyway...we have Yolly back for a week. She's going to get some more tests done to see if she really needs the surgery. If not, we get her back for good. If she does need it, we get to look for someone else!
